Comparison of cryogenic units with liquid nitrogen
The boiling point of liquid nitrogen at standard atmospheric pressure is -196℃, the cooling temperature is low, the system installation is simple, and the initial investment is small. Its disadvantages are: high operating cost, can not be recovered; The dependence on supply is strong, once the supply is interrupted, the production will be directly affected; Temperature control is difficult, and storage devices have potential security risks.
Cryogenic unit evaporation temperature -80℃ ~ -160℃, its advantages are: independent cooling, no loss, low operating costs, as long as ensure the supply of power and cooling water, you can ensure the reliable operation of the unit; The unit has a high degree of automation and adopts "one-button" operation, which can accurately control temperature. Simple routine maintenance is required.
It is calculated that the cost of using liquid nitrogen is 5-10 times that of using cryogenic units.
Usually between the cryogenic unit and the user's reactor, a set of cryogenic circulation system is required.
The main reasons are:
1. The thermal load of the user site is usually far away from the refrigeration room, and the load area is usually a clean, quiet, explosion-proof area. The refrigerant circulation system can separate the cryogenic unit from the load area, making the whole system more safe and reliable;
2. Usually, the cold source cools the materials in the reaction tank through the heat exchange coil in the reaction tank, and once the heat exchange coil leaks, it may pollute the material, and the refrigerant system usually uses the same substance as the material body or the solvent, so even if the leak, the possibility of pollution can be completely avoided;
3. The operator of the hot load area only needs to operate the refrigerant system according to the need of the cooling amount, which simplifies the work of the operator.
4. When the user load is too large, the load area to achieve rapid cooling or return temperature, the cryogenic unit itself refrigerant can not meet the requirements, to provide a large enough cooling capacity, there must be enough refrigerant, but at room temperature, the low temperature refrigerant becomes gaseous, the volume and pressure become large, the equipment can not withstand. The refrigerant circulation system can save the cooling capacity and load changes
